British born mezzo soprano Heather Lowe “sings with heart stopping sincerity” says The Times. She is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music (under Barber Robotham) and National Opera Studio (2014/15), finalising her studies at Opera North on their Associate Artist programme 2015/16.

Her autumn 2025/26 season started with her working with multi-award-winning UK-based contemporary circus company Upswing for their performance of BLOOM in collaboration with Bradford City of Culture 2025.  She then went on to work at the  Royal Ballet and Opera in London covering the role of Krista in Janáček’s haunting and enigmatic opera The Makropulos Case.

In early 2026 she will make her debut at the Teatro de la Maestranza singing Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Heather’s 2024/25 season included Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream (Opéra de Lausanne), Rosina The Barber of Seville (Teatru Manoel, Malta), Lola Cavalleria Rusticana and Mistresses of the Novices Suor Angelica (Dorset Opera Festival), Bernstein's A Quiet Place (Covent Garden Linbury Theatre)  

 

Heather brings exceptional physicality and dramatic nuance to her performances. Vocally, she is especially celebrated for her Rossini interpretations, with a voice praised for its “sheer vocal beauty, expressiveness, range and precision.” Her performances of Rosina (Il Barbiere Di Sevilla) and Angelina (La Cenerentola) showcase her command of coloratura, comic timing, and “vivacious presence”, making her a standout in the bel canto repertoire.
